Great story – was wondering if the Louis nuns had pre vatican 2 names – I was in Dundalk from 1961 – 1966 on the cusp of huge change for these great women who dedicated their lives . Many kept their old ‘religious ‘ names ; some changed the habit but not the names – would love to know if I knew them In Dún Lughaidh

Concession rate which the Treasurer has the discretion to apply and I will ask him to allow you as a regular is £40 for the day including lunch and dinner; or it can be £13 for the morning two lectures or £12 for the afternoon sessions, excluding meals. We have tried to price the lectures at a rate which makes them affordable, while at the same time allowing us to cover our expenses. The season ticket rate is reduced compared to last year and to take account of the different schedule. The tour led by Jack Johnston on Thursday 9th is £25 including lunch and an afternoon tea stop at the Ulster folk park near Omagh, but with no concessions.

I will off course be attending the 2012 Carleton Summer School. Particulary Cormac O’Grada’s lecture. I would like to attend other talks but financial considerations may preclude me for attending more than one lecture. Though I read there is a reduction for some people, it is still away above what I can afford. Could you arrange an a more attractive price so that I can enjoy more than one Carleton talk.

Thanks for your interest Marie. Barry Devlin will be appearing at the William Carleton summer school at 4:15pm on Monday 6th August (opening day) at Corick House hotel, Clogher in County Tyrone (of which he is a native!). Fee for this talk only and including a cup of tea/coffee beforehand will be £8 or 10 Euro. Hope to see you and your husband there as you tell me you are both long-time fans of Barry.
